School-Based Mattapan Community Health Center

The Mattapan Community Health Center School-Based Health Center (SBHC)

Young Achievers is fortunate to have a satellite clinic of Mattapan Community Health Center (MCHC) located within our school - adjacent to the School Nurse Health Office.  A Nurse Practitioner (NP) currently staffs the SBHC 16 hours a week. The NP is able to diagnose and treat minor medical problems such as strep throat and ear infections during the school day. The NP also performs physical exams, provides immunizations, flu vaccines and works with the school nurse to help manage medical conditions, such as asthma, at school.

Any student, regardless of where they usually go for these health services, is eligible to be seen by the NP as long as written parental consent is on file. These forms can be obtained from the SBHC and/or the school nurse.
