| Saving Images From a Web Browser and
Placing Images on Web Pages!
- Open Internet Explorer Web Browser and go to the Young
Achievers Web Site that is currently being developed. http://yatechcity
- In the right hand column you will see a list of YA
Photos Links. Click on one of the Photos pages and find a picture that
you want to put on your web page. If you have a picture that you have
taken you could use one of those pictures.
- Once you have found a picture that you want to put
on your web page, follow the directions below web that tell how to save
a picture from a web browser.
- Right Click on the Image that you want to save.
- Click on Save Picture As
- In the windows that pops up, click on the little arrow
and find your home named directory (i.e. rlamothe) on the
H drive and save the picture in your
images directory that is under your home directory.
You can rename it if you like.

- Next, you have to resize the picture using a graphics
editor. Go to Start, then Programs, then Microsoft
Office Tools, then Microsoft Photo Editor.
- Go to File, then Open, the find your image in your
images directory and open it.
- At the top click on Image then Resize.
- In that little window, where it says Units
change it from Inches to Pixels.
- Where it says Width, change it to say 300 which means
that your picture will be 300 pixels wide. You will notice that the
height is automatically changed for you. Click ok.
- Then click File, then Save or click on the little icon
of the disk. If you opened it from your images directory, it should
still be saved in YOUR images directory.
- Now it is time to place it onto your web page using
Macromedia Dreamweaver. Open Dreamweaver, then open your index.html
page which is your HOME web page.
